I am a native small-town Wisconsin cheesehead, growing up with 2 wonderful parents and an older sister. Most of my childhood hours of life were spent in a gym, loving my time as a competitive gymnast. I had the good fortune of worldly parents (mom is from the Netherlands and dad joined the Air Force at age 17 to see the world) who enriched my upbringing with travels to places far from rural Wisconsin--the most formative one for me being Hawaii. At the age of 8, I knew this was where I belonged, and college finally afforded me the opportunity to land there.
After earning my BS in Psychology from UH I realized the opportunities were limited. I came to Colorado in 1996 to attend CU Boulder to pursue an MS in Kinesiology and beginning my career in personal training, After graduation I headed south to start what I thought would be the rest of my life. The universe had other plans, and after only 9 months away, I returned and established myself in Gunbarrel, officially launching my business, Better Beings.
I moved to Denver in 2003 and have been embracing the journey through the past 23 years, evolving both personally and professionally. I am blessed with a diverse group of incredible friends, both locally and around the world. My family is demographically spread out but super tight at heart. Life is grand and I am grateful!
